Clarifi Staffing Solutions is looking for an on-site School Nurse to apply for this amazing opportunity.

The position of School Nurse is done for the purpose/s of providing care as outlined in Individual Healthcare Plans created by certificated school nurses, administering medications to students per health care provider orders, maintaining student health records including immunizations, assessing the health needs of students to provide first aid or referrals, escorting medically fragile students with BSD transportation to and from school and on school day field trips, diabetic care with the administration of insulin and other emergency medication, completing vision and hearing screenings, and assisting in any licensed nursing procedures as directed by school nurse

The school nurse provides nursing care under the direction and supervision of the Director of Special Education - Health Services. The ideal School Nurse is not only well-versed in many areas of health, but also knows how to work independently or with others. They must be able to communicate effectively and assess situations quickly so they can best serve their students' needs.

Responsibilities for School Nurse

1. Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness.

2. Develop health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities.

3. Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene.

4. Detect health problems in early stages through regular screenings.

5. Keep track of students' vaccination records

6. Update students' medical history

7. Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases)

8. Write referrals for pediatricians and other health specialists.

9. Ensure compliance with national and local health laws.

Requirements

The successful applicant must be an RN (with a Bachelor's Degree, preferred), training for vision and hearing certification is a plus. PEL with School Support Endorsement. Complete CPR training is needed.
