Description

Outstanding Opportunity for Fellowship-Trained Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician in Miami

Nicklaus Children's Hospital, a 307-bed freestanding children's hospital and ACS-verified Level 1 pediatric trauma center, and Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists, the physician multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children's Health System, have exceptional opportunities for a BC/BE fellowship-trained pediatric emergency medicine physician to join one of the busiest emergency departments in the United States.

The 65-room Emergency Department at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital was visited over 90,000 times in 2019, and, with our current volumes, we are projected to exceed this total in the next 12 months. The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine and the emergency department are the focal points for high acuity pediatric care in Southern Florida. The Division is multi-faceted and is focused on developing the next generation of physicians with the pediatric emergency medicine fellowship program and residents and medical students who rotate through the service. Voluntary academic appointments are available through an affiliation with Florida International University (FIU).

The current team is comprised of more than 25 board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric emergency medicine physicians, 12 pediatricians and 8 advanced practice providers, with pediatric specialists and subspecialists on call, 24 hours a day. Emergency Department shifts vary from 7-10 hours based upon the time of year and coverage of 3-8 physicians per shift, depending on the time of day. The entire Emergency Department staff are dedicated to maximizing the patient experience through continuous process improvements.

Founded in 1950, the rebranded Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is renowned for excellence in all aspects of pediatric medicine and has numerous subspecialty programs that are ranked among the best in the nation. It is also home to the largest pediatric teaching program in the southeastern U.S. Our organization consistently appears on employer award lists such as Fortune magazine’s “Best Workplaces In Health Care,” Becker’s “150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare” and People magazine’s “50 Companies That Care.” Join a phenomenal team that brings lifelong health and hope to children and their families through innovative and compassionate care.

Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is located in Miami, Florida, and offers all of the advantages of a tropical, diverse, metropolitan community. Enjoy abundant sunshine and warm weather year-round with easy access to beaches, golf courses, two international airports and sporting events.
