Get to Know Your Team: Lovelace Women’s Hospital is a 53-bed advanced neonatal intensive care unit, family care unit, an award-winning breast care center and the first robotic surgery program in the state recognized as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation. Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT: Responsibilities Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs. Observe patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurses or other medical staff. Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests. Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties. Additionally, this position measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School or GED. BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer into position. Preferred Job Requirements: Experience in Phlebotomy or completion of a Phlebotomy course. Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy. 2 years’ experience in acute or long-term care Knowledge of medical terminology. Working towards approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification Currently enrolled in nursing school.
