The Position Job Title Mortgage Compliance Specialist SUMMARY This position will assist with mortgage audits, mortgage complaints, mortgage litigation, general mortgage compliance issues and HMDA administration. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) Assists in monthly HMDA exception reviews, batch updates and data scrubbing and makes recommendations to the business for improvement. Perform Origination and Adverse HMDA testing on a monthly basis and make recommendations for improvement. Update HMDA records within HMDA Questsoft software and directs operational reviews with offshore HMDA team. Direct offshore team to test specific areas of HMDA fields when needed. Reviews mortgage marketing ads for compliance adherence and makes recommendations for improvement. Responsible for monthly fair lending reports for mortgages that are included in executive committee meetings. Assist with Internal and External Audit requests to gather information from the business and review and submit on behalf of the business. Update, report and track complaint data and report to senior management weekly. Assist with litigation tracking for servicing, originations, and CLD loans. Compiles business data for litigation requests for outside counsel. Assist senior compliance team members to ensure compliance is adhered to with TILA, RESPA, FCRA, HMDA, and ECOA rules and additional regulations through the pre-funding and post-closing quality control review process. Assists with Pre-Funding Quality Control reviews and root cause analysis. Participates in monthly call with the business and gives recommendations for improvement. Assist in researching, investigating and drafting mortgage complaint responses. Provides reports and updates on a regular basis on compliance reviews to keep senior management informed and provides other necessary documentation, or updates as needed. Assist, review, and monitor the origination system to ensure updates meet regulatory requirements. Maintains working knowledge of mortgage compliance requirements and upcoming changes that impact the residential mortgage lending industry. Maintain and update the organization's policy and procedures. Proactively provide effective feedback, guidance, and support for other Mortgage related compliance issues. Works collaboratively within the compliance team as well as across all business lines to proactively implement new compliance programs and changes. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES
- Performs other duties as requested by Executive Management or Manager;
- Completes all required compliance exams annually;
- Adherence to all of First United's Policies and Procedures;
- Dresses professionally, and;
- Recommends to supervisor possible methods to improve department efficiency.

Education and Work Experience - High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required and college degree in business preferred.
- 3 years' experience in a mortgage-lending environment preferred.

- Demonstrated technical knowledge of Bank, Mortgage, Federal and State lending, and compliance regulations and statutes
- Ability to self-start in fast paced environment
