Job Description

We are seeking a Microbiologist to join our operational Quality Control team for a temporary role in Boothwyn, PA . This position will require you to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations, while performing a variety of microbiological tasks.

Location : Boothwyn, PA - 19061

Schedule : Monday to Friday, Day Shift (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM) – Remote Thursday

Compensation : $30–34 per hour (Flexible based on experience)

Position Type : Temporary (Duration Unknown)

Key Responsibilities:

• Environmental Monitoring & Sample Processing : Conduct incubation, review, and identification of environmental monitoring and process verification samples. Prepare microbiological samples for external identification.

• Data Handling & Reporting : Update datasets, perform media release testing, conduct peer reviews, and maintain laboratory logbooks. Analyze trends and report findings.

• Lab Maintenance & Inventory : Maintain a clean and organized lab, perform inventory checks, manage policies and procedures, and ensure equipment maintenance and calibration.

• Investigations & Corrective Actions : Participate in investigations, implement corrective actions, review reports, and assist in training as needed by Microbiology Management.

• Administrative Tasks : Complete sample data entry, paperwork, and logbook tasks as assigned by the laboratory supervisor.

Ideal Candidate:

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in a life science or related field.

• Experience : 1-2 years of related experience in a laboratory setting. Experience operating and adjusting lab equipment and performing standardized tests is preferred.

• Skills : Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and apply independent judgment in decision-making.

• Work Environment : Previous experience in a GLP environment is preferred but not required. Experience in GMP or unregulated environments is also acceptable depending on other qualifications.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, sitting, walking, and use of hands/fingers.

• Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds frequently and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.

• Occasional travel via car, train, or plane may be required.

Additional Information:

• Remote Work : Thursdays will be remote, primarily focused on sample data entry and administrative tasks. The workload is relatively light on remote days.

• No Clean Room Work : This position does not require cleanroom work.

• Regulated Environment : This role operates in a regulated laboratory environment, adhering to GLP guidelines and applicable federal/state laws.
