Job Description

Overview Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Professional Engineer possessing a comprehensive understanding of Civil Engineering as it pertains to Hydrology & Hydraulics analysis and design. Familiar with principles and industry standards. Provides direction and supervision to less experienced staff and manages their daily responsibilities to meet project deadlines. Responsibilities Prepare Hydrologic & Hydraulic calculations, exhibits, and reports for civil infrastructure improvements for public and private projects. Data collection and analysis, computer modeling, and design of complex detention/retention systems meeting applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Evaluate and eliminate or mitigate detrimental impact of proposed design upstream and downstream of proposed projects. Prepare and process CLOMR/LOMR applications through local municipalities and FEMA. Monitor project costs and changes against budget. Monitor, specify, review and analyze engineering plans, specifications and reports. Review construction and design industry standards. Function as point of contact for consultants, contractors, professional and trade organizations, and other government agencies. Monitor agency permit review progress and respond to agency comments. Lead, organize and review the work of subordinate employees. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications 3-7 years of civil engineering experience is preferred. Understanding of private development process and concepts for both residential and commercial projects. Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D stormwater management software. Proficiency in HEC-RAS & HEC-HMS. 2-dimensional Hydraulic experience a plus. Proficiency in Autodesk InfraWorks required. Proficiency in ArcGIS required. Proficiency in Bentley Stormwater products (i.e., OpenFlows) is a plus. Experience in Civil3D required. Texas PE license required. Texas Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) preferred. Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
