We are working with a client on the north side of Metro Atlanta that is looking to hire an HR Generalist with Production experience/. Position details as follows:
The Human Resource Generalist performs duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: Employee Relations, Recruitment, Management Coaching, Training and Development, Employment, Affirmative Action and Employment Equity program, Benefits Management, Payroll Management, and Legal Compliance. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The HR Generalist must be self-driven, versatile, sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and the business needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
- Partners with Plant Manager on decisions related to personnel including confidential and sensitive matters.
- Maintains positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to communicate sensitive matters in a direct and diplomatic fashion.
- Ensures legal compliance in all aspects of the generalist function.
- Assist with the recruitment and interview processes
- Run background check and E-verify for all corporate and production new hires. Provide the new file to payroll
- Receive and organize all the paperwork for new hiring (including background check)
- Notify hiring Manager of the hiring status including result of the background check
- Assist with employee/staffing agency associates status changes/adjustments
- Investigate, resolve and document employee relations and/or staffing agency associates complaints, and grievances
- Assist Director of Human Resources in developing and updating policies and procedures as well as HR forms
- Answer unemployment claims and attend to unemployment hearing
- Prepare offer letters for new hires or promotions
- Prepare termination and verification of employment letters
- Assist with the day-to-day efficient operation of the Human Resources Department
- Print and file disciplinary actions/warnings, scan, file and fax documents as needed
- Assist with the employee annual performance reviews
- Assist with job description
- Prepare and maintains company organization charts
- Perform other special projects as assigned
- Responsible for handling recruitment and employee information in a professional, ethical, and confidential manner
- Practice ethical and professional hiring practices
- Communicate in both Spanish and English fluently
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources preferred
- 5-6 years minimum experience as a Human Resources Coordinator in a manufacturing and distribution environment
- Experience recruiting light industrial positions preferred
- Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other human resource programs
- Bilingual Spanish. Ability to read, write, and translate.
