POSITION SUMMARY 

Meals on Wheels America is seeking an experienced Email Marketing Manager to lead our email marketing efforts. This role will be responsible for managing the production and execution of email campaigns, tracking and analyzing performance metrics and serving as the organization’s email specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing and communications, excellent time management and organizational skills and a proven ability to generate insights from data.

This is an Arlington, VA based, hybrid working role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management and Quality Assurance

 

  • Manage email production calendar and schedules.
  • Coordinate with various departments to compile all elements of email sends (copy, lists and graphics) for one-off and automated campaigns.
  • Oversee project deadlines and internal review processes.
  • Ensure all collateral follows industry policies and best practices and internal brand guidelines.
  • Proofread content for clarity, grammar and spelling.
  • Ensure all email communications comply with CAN-SPAM laws and other relevant regulations, including providing clear opt-out mechanisms, accurate subject lines and sender information.

Digital Communications Management

 

  • Serve as the primary super user for the organization’s digital marketing platform.
  • Write copy for, build, test and validate pages and forms that capture donor information and interests to support lead generation strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Data Management team to support efforts to grow our email list and keep supporters continually engaged.
  • Write copy for, build, test, validate and send emails to our various audiences.
  • Identify target audiences and manage the timing, frequency, cadence and unique opportunities for various segments.
  • Segment lists based on behaviors such as past email engagement and website interactions.
  • Create and manage automated marketing campaigns.
  • Analyze campaign performance and suggest improvements.
  • Monitor revenue, email metrics and supporting data to identify issues and drive continuous improvement.

Measurement and Analysis

  • Measure and report performance of email marketing efforts and assess against goals.
  • Plan, execute and measure experiments, A/B tests and conversion tests.
  • Identify patterns, trends and insights and develop recommendations based on those insights.
  • Monitor email list health, bounce rates and unsubscribe trends.
  • Analyze campaign performance and suggest improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED 

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in digital communications.
  • Proficiency in email marketing and automation technology.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity and comfort with making edits in HTML.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and reporting on email data.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and shifting requests.
  • Ability to excel in a team-based, nimble and collaborative environment to advance the mission, values and goals of the organization.

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, such as Marketing, Strategic Communications or Business.
  • Experience using CRM/ESP EveryAction and/or Engaging Networks.
  • Experience in non-profit organizations or similar mission-driven environments.
  • Strong understanding of email marketing best practices and legal regulations.
