Position Summary: The Editor reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications. This role serves as the specialist in editing and technical writing for copy development and maintenance of various digital, print, and media resources. This position will assist with quality control efforts while maintaining timelines. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in new developments relating to technical writing, editing, and dissemination and may conduct interviews with subject-matter experts to understand and communicate all content considerations.
Requirements
- Reviews content (print/online) and edits for quality, accuracy, consistency, grammar, spelling, punctuation, voice, and terminology
- Suggests content revisions and rewrite copy to be appropriate for the intended audience
- Develop copy for various resources, including blogs, social media, video scripts, and news blurbs, email templates, automatic responses, and instructional documents
- Manages copy materials for projects
- Optimize content according to SEO standards
- Assist with the creation of training materials
- Collaborates with in-house content creators to ensure common understanding and consistency
- Verify facts using available resources
- Adhere to and maintain the BACB's editorial style guide
- Supervision of assistant editor
- Establishes and documents quality control measures
- Other duties as assigned

Experience and Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, publications, or English. Knowledge of APA Editorial Style. Minimum of 3 years of related experience. Minimum of 1 year of experience in technical writing preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPoint.

Work Environment : This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and video conferencing.
Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to listen and speak. This is largely a sedentary role; however, the ability to lift and carry a laptop, lift files, open filing cabinets, frequently type, bend and reach as necessary is essential to the position.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work : This is a regular full-time
IN OFFICE position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, typically 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening, holidays, and weekend work may be required based on operations. The BACB offers a hybrid schedule that allows staff to work remote on Wednesday.
Campus Wellness : The BACB is a tobacco and vape free campus. Consumption of tobacco products or vaping of any kind is prohibited.
Travel : Minimal travel is expected for this position.
