Job Description

• State of Alabama Cosmetology License & State of Alabama Cosmetology Instructor's license
• High School Diploma
• 5 years of industry experience

• Plan, prepare, and deliver quality classroom instruction in lecture, clinical, and/or laboratory format based on the approved course outline
• Manage classroom environment through compliance with district policies including, but not limited to classroom management, attendance, punctuality, and professionalism.
• Develop and deliver curriculum based on key learning objectives and utilizing best practices and various technologies to deliver instruction
• Create a syllabus which includes key learning objectives, class norms, attendance and grading policies, work habits expectations, a calendar of due dates for class assignments, projects, quizzes, tests, etc.
• Develop authentic, engaging, hands-on learning projects to meet learning objectives
• Develop assessments which track effectiveness of teaching and learning
• Develop and maintain contacts and partnerships with local industry professionals
• Participate in high school and CTE staff meetings as well as professional development opportunities provided through the district and annual Industry related PD as required by the state
• Participate in student CTE organizations, workshops and competitions (SkillsUSA, etc.)
• Take part in promoting and marketing the program to meet enrollment goals
