The Environmental Working Group’s mission is to empower people to live healthier lives in a healthy environment. We do this by educating consumers about what chemicals lurk in their personal environment – including their water, food, personal care products and cleaners – and empowering them to fight for better products and policies. 

 

EWG seeks a part-time Associate Analyst to assist EWG’s Healthy Living Science team in the development and maintenance of EWG’s popular consumer databases, assess the health and safety of consumer products and help companies formulate safer products The part-time Associate Analyst will assist with gathering and screening product data in compliance with EWG’s databases and verification program and collect and organize relevant documents. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to the administrative review of products for EWG’s Healthy Living Science programs and our consumer databases. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, compiling and researching ingredient and product information. 
  • Collaborate closely with EWG Healthy Living Science team to provide ingredient and product reviews for database maintenance and publication. 
  • Screen data submitted by companies in compliance with EWG’s databases and identifying gaps in company submissions and uploading data to the relevant sites, accordingly. 
  • Assist with file and document management and maintaining quality control standards. 
 

Qualifications: 

  • Preferred: BS in science, environmental health, or public health fields, or equivalent. 
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and Internet research. 
  • Accurate data acquisition and data recording skills.
  • Strong online research skills and ability to independently complete assigned tasks.
  • Keen organization skills. 
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to pace work to meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
 

Compensation:

  • Paid $22 per hour for 29 hours per week.
